How many of you brides would want two wedding dresses?

NinaPina asked:

Would you consider two wedding dresses too much? Would you buy one for the ceremony, and one for the reception, or would you consider this an unnecessary expense? Would two dresses make “your day” perfect, or would you rather save the money for something more practical?

Japanese weddings.nice idea?

Smiley asked:

So my husband and I have been living in Japan about 9 years now and we have been to a few of our friend`s weddings..the custom here is not to buy the couple a present but to give them A LOT of money (at least 250 bucks per person…usually even more..) . Part of the money pays for your place at the reception the rest goes toward helping the couple get a nice start in life. Sometimes the weddings can be a bit over extravagant, for example, the bride changes clothes A LOT, there is quite a show involved (an MC, with a multi media presentation of the couple`s life, a fake towering wedding cake, etc..), but I thought it was a great idea, especially in the States where weddings don`t cost quite as much and a 100 dollar a person give would be sufficient. This would be a good way to trim down the guest list, as many people would probaby not want to bring their kids and other significant others needlessly because of the price! What do you think?
Oh yes, the wedding favors include a catalogue where guests can pick out whatever they would like (usually about a 30 dollar gift).

If you are not having a traditional wedding, can you still have a bridal shower?

tripeace asked:

My fiance and I do not have the money for a traditional wedding. We have decided to get married in the mountains on an elopement package. However, I still want to have a lingerie bridal shower. Would it be wrong to do this?

Can someone tell me about the bridal registry?

…… asked:

Okay we have finally set our date for next October and people keep telling me about the bridal registry. What is it exactly and how does it work? Also if you can give me tips on planning the wedding that would be great. I am already feeling lost and need a little guidance.
Do it cost money to register?

Help with Mother of the Bride outfit?

Rose asked:

I’m after some advice and possible shops to look in.
I need to take my mum shopping for a mother of the bride outfit, she’s not very fashion concious and doesn’t like spending a lot of money on clothes so i would expect £100 would be the budget. Does anyone have any ideas of where we could go to look for things? Preferrably in London? Oh, and also it would be for larger sizes – 18 or so.
Thank you.

What is the minimal acceptable style of clothes to wear to a wedding?

Dellajoy asked:

I spent all my money on getting the car through inspection. I don’t have any skirts/dresses. My “dress” pants aren’t really dressy. Can I wear capris and a nice top? The people getting married are in their mid-20’s. The groom works with my bf and the bride I’ve met a couple of times. She has piercings in her nose and eyebrow.
I went to a used clothing store last night and couldn’t find anything good.
I see the first answer which was very rude has been removed…so the first guy isn’t the guy that the last person is referring to.

Do wedding dresses normally get more expensive this time of year?

Perse asked:

I saw a trending report of a few wedding dresses over the course of the last year and their prices would rise and fall a little but they all spiked since December.

Is this typical in the industry or does something else explain it?

I’m finally cracking down on getting the dress and if I can save money by waiting a few months I will.

If you brought a gift to the bridal shower do you then bring a financial gift to the actual wedding?

cindy asked:

I brought a gift to the bridal shower and my husband feels we should bring a gift of money to the actual wedding and I am not sure what proper etiquette is for this situation
